March Madness with KO17 Lacrosse

March Madness with KO17 Lacrosse

Lately, KO17 Lacrosse has been traveling all over the Northeast working with programs that have just gotten started with their 2022 Spring Seasons!

Since March 1st, we have been to 8 different locations! EIGHT - within one month. These kinds of months are why we love what we do.

We got to work with programs like Long Island Lacrosse Journal for our Pro Scoring Academy getting reps on three consecutive Monday's with some of LI's best Middle School & High School talent.

We traveled Upstate New York three times. We got to see some of our Yellow Jackets North girls and collaborate on their draw strategy; we held small group sessions with some of our top leaderboard performers on the KO17 Lacrosse App in their hometown; and we hunkered down and got some beneficial reps on a snowy Sunday outdoor session with South Colonie Girls Lacrosse groups.

Kylie got the chance to meet girls from two different high school programs in two different locations - DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey AND St. Luke's High School in New Canaan, Connecticut. At both guest coaching sessions, we worked through a fast-paced practice setting working on the "sticky" things that we know will help us go outside our comfort zone.

Pennsylvania was a state that was also hit twice within this one month span. We traveled to the Philadelphia area to an incredible facility dedicated to women's lacrosse players only - Commit to Improve. Post-clinics, Kylie got the chance to sign their legendary chalk wall amongst some other pros and college studs that have also been to the facility, which was a really special moment. Most recently, we traveled to Scranton, PA to get some skills-based reps with NEPA Impact Lacrosse and Kylie was grateful to answer lots of great questions about lacrosse and hear that many of the girls at these sessions plan on being in the stands at the World Championship this Summer.

If you're still with us... on top of all these events, Kylie had the chance to be a part of some very special events and opportunities within the past month, as well. Thanks to the KO17 Fam's generosity with our Lacrosse the Nations Equipment Drive - we had enough equipment left over to bring to a Bronx Lacrosse practice, work with the girls program directors and players there, and learn more about the incredible work they are doing to provide opportunities for their players.

The Athletes Unlimited Regional Futures Tryouts have begun, and Kylie has been at the Long Island Tryout and will be at the New Jersey Tryout. It is always great to see the future of the sport supporting the present professionals, and competing amongst each other for the opportunity to represent their region at an Athletes Unlimited National Summit this Summer.

Last but certainly not least, Kylie had the incredible opportunity to attend the Harlem Lacrosse 10 Year Anniversary Gala in New York City. It was an emotional night surrounded by lacrosse legends filled with gratitude, inspiration, and motivation to continue the amazing work Harlem Lacrosse does across the country and beyond.

It has been a busy month, but we wouldn't have it any other way. If you know us at KO17 Lacrosse - we believe busy is a good thing! Thank you to all those who provided us with opportunities to spread our love for the game this March. Let's see what April has in store!
